Lines 380-381 ~ a thane, they declared, with the strength of thirty men in the grip of each hand.
This parallels earlier in the epic when Grendel grabs thirty men. This is a foreshadow that Beowulf will defeat Grendel because he has the strength of thirty men in just one hand. This is also significant to Beowulf ripping off Grendel’s arm during battle.
